Grounds for inadmissibility are reasons a person may not be allowed into the United States, and thus might influence your asylum and refugee application and status. While applying for a green card, grounds for inadmissibility could be taken into consideration. USCIS can approve a green card application even if certain grounds for inadmissibility apply. Thus, USCIS may choose to overlook certain grounds for inadmissibility in the sense that they will not be a reason to deny the green card application.
