Immigration to the United States and Visas in Numbers

Nine women are sitting in the same room; One of them is nine months pregnant, and in average, all of them are in their first month of pregnancy. Statistics do not always represent reality correctly. In a nation as huge as the United States, so many statistics can be produced easily that it can be difficult to know where to start, and which statistic to believe.


Statistics often depend on how you define things, who you asked, and how they where collected. Thus, the following statistics could be somewhat different than presented elsewhere.

  • About 85-90% of Lawful Permanent Residency (Green Card) applications are approved out of about 800,00 - 825,00 applications per year.​
