Employers tend to require that either a resume be submitted, a Curriculum Vitae (CV), and sometimes – both. Both your resume and curriculum vitae should serve you as a job-seeker as power tools for landing your desired job/position. Thus, it is extremely important to make the most of your first opportunity to impress the hiring employer, perhaps your only opportunity.
Since it is recommended that your resume be 1-2 pages in length at most, every word and phrase need to count and work in your favor. Unfortunately, when created incorrectly, a resume can work against its owner, sending a message of “do not hire me” me to the hiring employer.

Structure:
If the employer has a template they prefer, use their template as much as possible. If the employer does not have a preferred template, there are multiple templates you could use for the same job/position. Most templates have many things in common, such as fixated sections and flexible sections. Fixated sections always appear in a certain location of the resume (beginning, middle, or end) while flexible sections tend to “move around” according to the template, profession, or field of expertise.
Let’s survey what the fixated sections at the beginning of a resume tend to include:
A career goal statement – short and accurate; Try and capture the essence of what you are looking for.
Your contact information – avoid personal information as much as possible
Academics – information about your education, degrees, majors, minors, concentrations, certificates, GPAs, and graduation dates.
Most relevant work experience – from present to last. Include the years working for that employer, the official title, unofficial title (optional), name and location of the employer. If space permits, include a brief description of what your duties and responsibilities included. Indicate numeric values if possible.

Pumpy & Pumpina is a children's book by Moran Sciamama-Saghiv for 2-5 year olds that teaches them about the heart. Follow the main characters, James, Pumpy, Mary, and Pumpina, as they go about their day to day life and see how their hearts are important and affect them during different activities.
Let’s survey what the fixated sections at the end of a resume tend to include:
Professional/personal references (not necessary in most resume templates).
Personal and professional skills and attributes.
Computer skills (mainly software, yet can include hardware if relevant).
Personal development experiences – workshops, etc.
Volunteer experiences and contribution to the community.
“In the media” section – including as many links to articles, posts, etc. about you.
The flexible sections of a resume change their location according to the position you are applying for. It is important to keep your resume dynamic by updating the information, improving it due to proofreading and peer-feedback, as well as adjusting it to the actual position you are applying for. These sections tend to include the following, if relevant:
Leadership and management experiences – best focus on yourself as a servant-leader with managerial abilities than just a manager.
Marketing and Sales experiences.
Customer service experience.
Budgeting experience.
Community relations and fundraising experiences.
Conflict resolution and workforce relations experiences.
Talent acquisition experience.
Professional memberships.
Scholarship/research.
Teaching/instructional.
Other – anything else that is highly relevant.
It is important to note that these sections can include many more options, depending on the profession you are in and the job you are applying for. The more relevant the section the more it should appear towards the beginning of your resume.
